The Center for Ultra-Wide-Area Resilient Electric Energy Transmission Networks (CURENT) successfully held the 12th annual Industry Conference at the University of Tennessee’s Student Center and Min H. Kao Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Building from April 30–May 1.
More than 150 attendees, including 54 from industry, 89 students and researchers, and 12 professors from the University of Tennessee and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), joined the conference. The conference featured program keynote speeches, technical sessions, poster/panel discussions, and networking opportunities.
The keynote speakers were:
- Darrell Moore, director, North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC)
- Olga Spahn, program director, Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E)
- Fred Jones, research director, Raytheon
- Yingchen Zhang, vice president, Utilidata
- Peter Barbosa, director, Delta Electronics
The tutorial presenters were:
- Sandra Bogetic, assistant professor, UT
- Feng-Yuan Zhang, professor, UT
