David Reid is an adjunct lecturer in the Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has been a software engineer and engineering manager in the Knoxville area for over 30 years. 

David grew up in Knoxville and attended Doyle High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and computer science from Milligan University in 1990. Continuing his education at UT, he earned a Master of Science in computer science in 1993. With an interest in teaching computer science at the college level, he returned to UT and completed a PhD in computer science in 2023.
