Data Analyst & User Support Technician

The Data Analyst & User Support Technician handles technical support and information management for end users in the District Attorney General’s Office and analyzes criminal justice information used in the administration of criminal justice. This position engages closely with the information technology and legal professionals in the secure collection, storage, organization, usage, and distribution of digital evidence obtained in criminal investigations for use in criminal prosecution; troubleshooting and maintaining computer systems; and analyzing criminal justice data to support decision-making process within the District Attorney General’s Office and evaluate the effectiveness of criminal justice initiatives.

Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Respond promptly to user inquiries via phone, email, or in-person
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Assist users with password resets and access issues

Digital Evidence Management:

  • Implement strategies to collect, preserve, analyze, and share digital evidence obtained in criminal investigations
  • Maintain an efficient electronic document control system, including organizing, categorizing, and indexing electronic documents
  • Conduct regular audits to assess document quality, accuracy, and availability, and make recommendations for improvement

Data Analysis:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex criminal justice data for various sources
  • Compile prosecution statistics, including caseloads, case outcomes, conviction rates, and sentencing patterns
  • Develop and maintain databases and dashboards to provide accessible and up-to-date information

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, data science, statistics, or related field with strong interest in computers and excellent computer skills
OR
Associate’s’ degree in computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent work experience with strong interest in data analysis and criminal justice

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with audio, video, and photo editing software
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and software, such as Excel and SQL
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and multiple task simultaneously
