EECS doctoral candidate John Sadik recently got a boost, as he was selected as a J. Wallace and Katie Dean Graduate Fellowship honoree for the 2023-24 academic year.
Sadik, who works under Assistant Professor Scott Ruoti, is focused on cybersecurity as the main component in his pursuit of a computer science PhD.
“My current focus is on password use and modifying password managers, as well as researching devices that don’t allow password managers and how this impacts users”, said Sadik, who also earned his bachelor’s degree in the department. “I am also interested in how cybersecurity varies from one culture to the next.”
As part of his selection, Sadik will receive $10,000 for the next school year, divided evenly into $5,000 per semester.
