Position Overview

The Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT) is seeking candidates for two tenure-track faculty positions at either the assistant or associate professor level in computer engineering, with desired emphasis in areas such as cybersecurity with a focus in system security or hardware security, internet-of-things, sensor systems, mobile computing, and wireless networking. Strong candidates in computer engineering or electrical engineering in areas not explicitly listed will also be considered.

The successful candidate will be expected to (1) conduct and publish scholarly research; (2) pursue funding to support an active research agenda; (3) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer engineering, computer science, and/or electrical engineering; (4) mentor graduate students; and (5) participate in departmental service.


Required Qualifications

  • PhD in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field at the time of appointment
  • Effective, high-quality teaching skills
  • Ability to effectively mentor undergraduate and graduate student

For an Appointment at the Associate Professor rank:

  • Expected to have conducted nationally/internationally recognized research works
