Position Overview
The Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT) is seeking applications for one full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month Teaching Assistant Professor position in computer science or computer engineering. EECS, housed in the state-of-the art Min H. Kao building, is one of the largest departments on campus with more than 900 undergraduate and 400 graduate students. The department also runs a successful online master’s in computer science degree program and is seeking well-qualified, motivated individuals to teach and create online content. The position will require teaching online graduate computer science courses and occasional undergraduate computer science and/or computer engineering courses.
Anticipated start date is August 1, 2026.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field. In addition, candidates must possess excellent communication skills and a solid commitment to innovative teaching methods, both traditional and technology enabled. Demonstrated interest in computer science and online education programs is expected. College-level teaching experience and/or industry experience is preferred.
