Biography
Assistant Professor Yi Huang received his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he was awarded the Ting-Wei Tang Dissertation Prize. He earned his BS and MS degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.
His research aims to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and human intelligence in both energy efficiency and cognitive capability through a cross-layer hardware-software co-design paradigm spanning multiple disciplines in electrical engineering and computer science. His long-term goal is to develop brain-inspired computing systems that enable energy-efficient, adaptive, and trustworthy AI from edge devices to large-scale computing platforms. His work has been published in leading venues, including Nature Electronics (featuring one cover article and one editorial-highlighted article), Nature Sensors (including two News & Views-highlighted articles), Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering, Nature Communications, Science Advances, and premier IEEE journals.
