Ahmedullah Aziz, an assistant professor in the Min H.Kao Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, has received the 2023 Journal of Applied Physics Early Career Investigators Selection’s Best Paper Award. The award, which is given to only three people per year, highlights the exceptional work of early career investigators who received their PhD less than 10 years ago.
“Receiving this award is a profound honor that validates my contributions to applied physics research and further energizes my commitment to advancing the field of cryogenic electronics,” said Aziz.
The paper that won the award was focused on the development of neuromorphic systems operating at cryogenic temperatures, where Aziz discussed some of the key challenges in the field along with insights into what the future may look like for such research.
Since Aziz’s paper won, it will be highlighted in this year’s virtual collection. Aziz will also have the opportunity to join the JAP editorial advising board, and to serve on the selection committee for next year’s early career investigator selection and best paper award.
