Professor Fred Wang has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Outstanding Achievement Award from the Industry Applications Society (IAS). Presented annually since 1969, the award honors an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in the application of electricity to industry in accordance with the scope of the IEEE Industry Applications Society.

Wang, the Condra Chair of Excellence in Power Electronics and CURENT Technical Director, was honored for his contributions to high-power high-density high-efficiency power electronics technologies for industry, transportation, and electronic grid applications.

Wang receives a prize of $5,000 and an engraved statuette. He will be recognized at an awards ceremony during the awards luncheon of the 2025 IAS Annual Meeting or another IAS-sponsored conference.
