MathWorks Professor Michela Taufer has been elected to serve on the Computing Research Association (CRA) Board of Directors, as announced by the association on Thursday.
Taufer was one of nine individuals elected to the board this year, including one of seven from academia. Her three-year term will run from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2029.
The CRA Board of Directors is a distinguished group of leaders in computing research from academia and industry. The board provides the membership for various standing committees, including government affairs, snowbird conference, taulbee survey, finance, and elections committees.
Taufer, who joined the Min H. Kao Department of Electrical and Computer Science Engineering in 2018, is a leader in high-performance computing, reproducible cyberinfrastructure, and trustworthy AI/ML systems for scalable science. She has been deeply engaged with CRA through service on the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) Council, helping translate research priorities into policy guidance and community convenings.
Taufer brings governance and fiduciary experience through leadership roles in professional societies and publishing, along with long-standing collaborations across academia, labs, and research infrastructure communities.
